Other points of interest
The closest point of interest to Europarque is the medieval Castle of Santa Maria
da Feira, an 11th century construction that played a very important role in the
beginnings of Portuguese nationality. It rises above a park in the Feira historical
center, about 3km from the conference venue.
About 30km south of the conference site is city of Aveiro with its well-known lagoon,
a salt-water basin more than 40km long. Aveiro is also the location of IT-Aveiro,
the organizer of Conftele 2009.
About 25km north of Feira lies the city of Porto (Oporto), the home of Port wine,
the second city of Portugal.
