Aveiro is located ~60km from the Oporto Airport and ~220km from Lisbon Airport. However is quite easy and quick to travel from any of these cities to Aveiro: ~2h30 from Lisbon, ~40min from Oporto.
How to reach Aveiro
By train from:
OPORTO Airport: You may look up the timetables at the site of the Portuguese Railways ("http://www.cp.pt"). If you arrive to Porto (Sá Carneiro Airport), take the metro to "Campanhã" railway station. From "Campanhã" railway station it takes about 45-60 minutes from Porto to Aveiro, and there are trains about twice an hour.
LISBON Airport: If you arrive at Lisbon International Airport, take a taxi to "Oriente" railway station. The trip should take about 10 minutes, but this may vary depending on the traffic. The fare should be near 5 Euro (with luggage). From "Oriente" railway station it takes about 2h30-3h to reach Aveiro, using the faster trains (Alfa, Intercities).
By car from:
OPORTO Airport: YThe car rental is quite accessible and standard like in major airports with shuttles. From the car rental follow the A1 highway to Lisbon or Porto signs. After reaching the A1, you should expect a 30 min drive (2.9€ toll) to the "Aveiro IP5" exit. After that, you will have a 15 km drive (don’t forget to follow the "Aveiro" sign, specially near the stadium).
LISBON Airport: The car rental is quite accessible and standard like in major airports. From the car rental follow the A1 highway Porto signs. After reaching the A1, you should expect a 2h30 drive (~13€ toll). Just follow the A1 signs and its quite fast and simple path. When reaching Aveiro, go out in "Aveiro Sul", follow the signs to Aveiro, and at the first round follow the highway to Aveiro.

Currency: According to the Monetary Union, the official currency is the Euro.
Banks: Banks are opened from Monday to Friday, from 08.30 to 15.00. Banks are closed on Saturday and Sunday. The national ATM network MULTIBANCO enables cash to be withdrawn 24 hours a day through foreign or international network credit cards.
Electricity: Voltage in Portugal is 220 volts - 50 Hz. Foreign appliances could require an adapter.
