I am an Associate Professor (with Aggregation) of the Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Aveiro. I also coordinate the  Networks and Multimedia research area at the Institute of Telecommunications (with Mário Figueiredo) and the Networks and Multimedia Communications group at the Aveiro pole of the Institute of Telecommunications. Currently, my main research interests are in the area of traffic engineering for multiservice networks, including traffic characterization and modeling, network design, admission control and resource allocation. I am also interested in the architectural issues of next generation networks, with emphasis on access networks, and in network security aspects.
