          Armando N. Pinto is an Associate Professor in the Electronic, Telecommunications and Informatics Department
          of  Aveiro University, where he has been teaching telecommunications related courses.

          He is also a researcher at the Institute of Telecommunications.
          
         
        
		- 
		
		  His main research interests	are on optical communication systems, mainly on nonlinear, polarization dependent and quantum effects in optical fibers.
          
         
		- 
		
		  He received his B.S. (1994) in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering and Ph.D. (1999) in Electrical Engineering, 
          from Aveiro University.
		  
         
        
		- 
		
		  He joined the Institute of Telecommunications in 1995, and the Electronic, Telecommunications and Informatics
          Department   of Aveiro University in 1997.
		  
         
        
       - 
	   
		 During 2006 and 2007, he was a Visiting Professor in the Institute of Optics, 
         University of Rochester, USA;
