With a PCAN-ISA card you can connect a PC to one or two (requires a dual-channel PCAN-ISA card) high-speed CAN busses (HS-CAN). The registers of the CAN controllers can be addressed directly via the I/O addresses of the PC. The so-called ISO version of the PCAN-ISA card additionally contains a galvanic isolation of up to 500V between the PC and the CAN components of the adapter by using a DC/DC-converter and an optocoupler. The provided drivers, the PCAN-Light API, and the PCAN-View CAN bus Monitor software are the feature-reduced versions of the larger software packages PCAN-Evaluation, PCAN-Developer, or PCAN-Explorer. These can be aquired separately.
